About Counter Cholesterol

The effect of high cholesterol touches much more than the health of one heart alone – it affects the lives of your family, friends and community. Women are pillars of support for families, but many aren’t aware people with high cholesterol are at least five times as likely to have cardiovascular disease – the No. 1 cause of death among women.

Counter Cholesterol can help you and your family stay healthy by providing the resources and guidance women need to talk to their healthcare providers, manage their risk for high cholesterol and lead a healthy lifestyle. Caring for yourself = Caring for your family.

The National Forum for Heart Disease & Stroke Prevention developed Counter Cholesterol in partnership with Austin/Travis County Health and Human Services, El Buen Samaritano and many other local and national organizations. It is made possible through support from Sanofi and Regeneron.
